A New Carreer

Thursday, June 2nd, 2011

I’ve been really bored with my current line of work for about two years now. The hours are terrible, the pay is ridiculous, and it’s basically a dead end job. I was having dinner at my parent’s house the other day and my father asked me about work. I told him I was looking into a new career. He told me that with energy prices soaring, refrigeration engineering may just be a good way to go. He said things in this industry are going to be changing rapidly because people will be looking to save money. And our current technology is good but it could be much better. As the night wore on the things he was saying started to make more and more sense. It was one of the best conversations that we had ever had.

When I got home I started doing a little research one my own. I learned a little about ammonia refrigeration and how that business is doing, and the more I read the more I realized that my father knew what he was talking about. I felt a lot better and then finally decided to go for it. I signed up for some online general education type classes to get me started.
