A Great Deal

Monday, July 11th, 2011

I woke up today and made myself bacon and eggs for breakfast. As I was eating I noticed that my curtains looked a little dingy. It had been ages since I bought some new ones so I decided that I would treat myself and by a new stylish set. After I got back from the gym I decided to take a shower and get dressed. Then I searched online to see if I could find any deals, but I couldn’t so I decided to head out to the mall. But once I got there I got a little distracted by all the sales. I checked out a couple of clothes stores and even looked at some new stereo equipment, but then I realized that I had to stay focused.

Eventually I found my way into a Macy’s where a very polite saleswoman showed me a wide variety of window curtains. She said they were usually rather expensive, but that this weekend they were having a big sale and that I would be very foolish to pass this deal up. They looked absolutely beautiful and I thought that they would go perfect with my home’s décor. She was even kind enough to knock a few dollars off of the installation price and told me that they could be delivered within one week.

With springtime here, many homeowners are doing some much-needed spring cleaning and quite often that includes hanging new curtains in the kitchen. If you are looking for new window curtains for your kitchen you have to first decide what type of material you want.

sheer curtains are fine for the kitchen as long as you have blinds or shutters behind them. Sheer curtains come in many styles and colors and they can be hung alone and look just fine. You could add matching window toppers if you wish to give your kitchen a coordinated look. It is not advisable to use sheer curtains near a stove or the dining table as you cannot wipe spills from them.

Half-window cafe style curtains on brass or wooden rods are timeless classics in the kitchen. If your kitchen is decorated with country décor then look for curtains with ruffles and matching window toppers. If you prefer a sleek and modern look then shop for tab-top curtains or the newer grommet curtains which are very simplistic in nature yet stunning to look at.

Be sure to embellish your new kitchen curtains with coordinating rods, rings and tie backs for a fresh new look. Consider shopping for your curtains online as there web is awash in curtain stores selling everything from the latest grommet curtains to window toppers in many sizes, styles and colors.
